Go to My Account > View/Edit Account.  You will see a browse button there to insert your picture.

You log in to this directory using your Backyard Poultry Forum username and password.  If you don't have an account go there, complete the form and submit.  Then go to your email inbox and find the activation link in your email to activate your account.  After that you can log in to the directory using that account.

How do I create a listing that can be seen by the public?

At this point there is no limit on the number of listings you may have.  If we have troubles with duplicate listings or spammer listings we may need to change this but at the moment there is no limit.  

The logo picture is added at the time of creating the listing or when you edit a listing.  Toward the bottom of the listing screen there is a browse button where you can navigate on your own computer to the location of your logo picture.  Select it and submit your screen to insert the logo.

The maps displayed on a listing are based on the geolocation using street address and postcode.  If the information is missing or incorrect, the map will not be accurate.  Check your listing details. If you are still not happy with your map, you may email us your preferred set of coordinates and we will put them in manually for you.

All listings have a number of icons on the right-hand side.  One of them is labelled 'claim me'.  You need to have an account to claim a listing so you will be taken to a registration page.  Create your account, complete the form and a Manager will be notified that there is a claim on a listing. 

Listings can be edited by the owner of that listing.  If the listing is unclaimed, you may 'claim' it and a Manager will transfer it to your account.

A classified is a type of listing that can be made by a user who has a listing.  The classifieds include extra option such as image uploads, full address, text editor plus other advantages.  They can be found from the classifieds button on the user's listing, they will come up in search results, and they can also be found through the 'search classifieds' link in the menu.

The maximum classified image size for upload is 600 X 600 pixels.

The search function on the directory uses a number of fields to find items when you search.

 A very important field for you to fill in well is the keywords field in the listing.  This should contain any important words that relate to your listing.  You may also increase the chance of someone finding you by including common incorrectly spelled versions of words in here.  For example, if you are advertising pekin ducks you might include both 'pekin' and 'peking' in your keywords box so that somebody using the wrong version will also find your page.

The other fields in your listing are also important.  Fill them all in for the best search results.  If there are blanks, the listing will still be made but your search results will be less reliable.
